Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP): KAP utilizes low dose, sublingual Ketamine to enhance one’s therapeutic experience and soften the defense structures that have protected an individual from painful emotions. There are many models of Ketamine treatment. I utilize a highly relational model that emphasizes the inner healing intelligence and choice; I practice with the belief that each person possesses the tools needed to thrive in their life, and using very low doses of ketamine can help to make way for these tools to come forward so one can experience a greater connection to their true self. Such low doses allow for an individual to maintain choices throughout their experience, allowing for increased safety in a non-ordinary state of consciousness. I utilize this medicine to explore and move through the root source of suffering and not simply as a symptom management tool. This can be done in an outpatient psychotherapy setting or as a retreat style treatment.

It is my belief that, as sacred medicines with important cultural meanings, psychedelic substances will provide for you what it is you are needing, rather than what you may be wanting. This can lead individuals to unexpected experiences where one’s unconscious can become conscious, creating unanticipated emotions, sensations, and insights. As such, I practice with a highly trained and specialized approached focused on attunement, safety, and trust.
I also believe that preparation and integration are more important than the medicine itself, and as such, much time is dedicated to ensuring that all parts are attended to in the lead up to a medicine session as well as in the aftermath of one. There is no specific determination as to what amount of time preparation and integration may be, as this is determined on a case by case basis.

In addition to my working with these medicines in my private practice I also work as a study therapist on several clinical trials and with a psychedelic assisted psychotherapy clinic, Integrata. For more information, check out their website
My treatment does not involve providing or prescribing any controlled or illegal substance. I do not encourage the purchase or use of illegal substances and do not conduct sessions while an individual is under the influence of any substance. I do not assist clients in obtaining illegal substances, nor do I assist clients with referrals to “underground” resources.
